Made in China, this capybara (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris) stands 1 1/2 inches tall and has a wealth of lifelike detail. OK, the eyes are orange, but that's less visible in person than in this large photo. You capy fans will already know how hard it is to find *any* capybara item, much less one with the right eye color and detail! In fact, we recently went to the Seattle Gift Show (Summer 2003) and this is the only one we found. This replica even has four slightly webbed toes on each front foot and three on each hind foot - like real capybaras - and small claws, too. It has great nostrils, lips and ears, and a small capybara tail. The capybara is the largest rodent on earth, and lives in swampy areas of South America.

This sturdy, light-weight plastic rodent is great for school projects, toys, novelties, animal collections, party favors and more. Our plastic capybara is for decoration or play only. You can make an outstanding South American shoebox diorama using this and other plastic creatures from our gift shop. Best of all, there is no mess, no feeding, and no tank or cage cleaning :) Come check out our other capybara toys and gifts.
